Krysten and Damien at Ayers Rock 21 May 2010
I had not met Krysten and Damien before as they are traveling through Australia. They got married at Ayers Rock resort.

We went to the same red dune as this is a really nice spot for photographs. We were running out of light and only had 30 minutes to do the shoot. The clouds blocked the sun and any nice colours, then at the right moment we had a bit of sunlight popping through the clouds. Just enough to make that nice shot, a great contrast between the dark grey sky and the nice golden skin tones.
The night finished off for us – the couple and me and Emma (my new 2nd part time assistant) with sparkles and love…….

Daniel and Sonya

A photographers wedding shoot
Yesterday we went to the old south road with Mark and Rita for their photo session. Mark is a professional photographer himself. His wife wanted red sand, we drove 35 km and past Ooraminna homestead to find the prerfect dune. It doesn’t show in this picture, but the ripples were really dramatic, I will post more images soon.
Worth the drive. more to come soon, now I am heading off to Ayers rock again for another wedding.

Australian Traveler Magazine feature
The editor of the Australian Traveler Magazine called me if they could have some wedding photos.
They are going to feature my central Australian Ayers Rock resort photos in their honeymoon section with Ayers Rock resort as a honeymoon destination. (No rock in the photos as this is not permitted by the local indigenous people)
YEHAA!

Kings Canyon wedding, so much luck that we had with the rain
Amazing scenery here in the heart, the soul, the centre of Australia.
And the effort we had to go through to get there by car. Knee deep water over the roads and nearly got stuck. Pooring down with rain and heavy winds, dark dark skies. But when we finally got there after a 5 and a half hours drive (450 km only) the skies cleared up and the sun appeared, out of the blue. As if it had been waiting for us to have a fantastic setting for the wedding. We climbed to the top of Kings Canyon to have some great scenery shots. Luckily the bride and groom were ultra fit. Back within the hour and 15 minutes
just in time for the ceremony.
At the end of the shoot / ceremony the wind almost blew the cake off the table. Me and my assistant Jenn had to protect our cameras from the dust storm and the wedding coordinator managed to save the cake. Walking back to the reception of the hotel it started raining so heavily that we had to do the last 200 m by car. How incredible that we had a clear and almost sunny sky throughout the whole ceremony and shoot!
The skies were so incredibly great, I couldn’t have hoped for more! Location, location, location!

Back from the wedding. How amazing did this bride look! and there was a rainbow too! She was wearing real Singapore Orchids in her hair and in her bouquet.

Official mention on Voyages Resort wedding website – Longitude 131
Having worked with Voyages Resorts Kings Canyon, Alice Springs, Longitude 131 and Ayers Rock, for about 2 years of my3.5 years photographic carreer here in Australia (note I have only lived in Australia for 3.5 years
:)
)
I am now finally mentioned on their website as one of the official wedding photographers for Longitude 131 resort weddings and Ayers Rock Voyages resort weddings.
The other mob is April of Moving Pictures. I have worked with April and can honestly say she is a very high competition for me.
I will also (eventually when I have some more time) provide images to them for website use on the Voyages web.
We are not allowed to use imagery that displays Uluru with weddings to sell a product as we all know Uluru is a sacret Aboriginal site.
The images on their website now are from a Japanese company that shot their images under the old regulations years and years ago. These images have been approved years ago.

Audrey and Dennis – Golf Course Alice Springs 1 Nov ’09
The lovely couple Dennis and Audrey got married today the 1st of November 09 at 10 am.
A select company of 6 people. Nice and intimit.
So hot it was (37 oC = 98.6 oF) , already at 10 am in the morning, but that could not ruin the atmosphere of love and happiness that was present in this house.
Audrey’s sister from the US followed the wedding on the webcam via wireless internet on their laptop. Viva la technology! Sister loved it! I took a photo of her.
I really enjoyed shooting this wedding. Thanks people for the great day!
