NL Wedding 2 – Debbie and Wilfred

I got the honour to photograph the wedding of another couple this week, Debbie and Wilfred.

This one was at a beautiful castle.

Here a sneak peak.

Amsterdam revisited

Ok, I went to Amsterdam too, yes, couldn’t help myself, tomorrow to Rome

My sisters’ 11th Anniversary

Seen that two people hired me to shoot their wedding in Holland, my sister (who is assisting me) got all in a  romantic mood. She told me she just had her 11th anniversary last week, if I could take photos in her wedding dress, but now 11 year later, also with her little lovely family.

Blog clean up

people were “complaining” that this blog takes long to load, so I decided to give it a good clean out! :)

Everything older than a couple of months will be deleted from now on to keep the site fast and accessible for everyone, also those on dial up (ancient but unfortunately it still exists) :) :)

Got a call a couple of days ago to do a shoot for a health magazine. Subject Rowie Schulz.

She is a personal trainer and business owner of Essential Fitness in Alice Springs.
She was the personal trainer of the TV Show “The Biggest Loser” and I was asked to photograph her in a desert landscape.
Went down the old south road and photographed her in the “Golden Hour” see here the result.

2nd wedding in Holland in a real castle!

My dream just come true last night! I will get to shoot a wedding in a real castle!

A very friendly man contacted me if I was interested in shooting his wedding on the 8th of September 2010. How lucky I was…. because I will just be back from Rome the 7th.
It is in a very nice castle “Kasteel Heeswijk” www.kasteelheeswijk.nl

YES PLEASE!

Couple and dogs

Today I photographed a little newborn and a couple with two dogs. Talking about unpredictable shoots…..

The couple was amazing! Jacky and her husband with their two fur kids (who were like real little kids, anything but co operating lols but soooo much fun!). They are flying back to their homeland the USA next week and they wanted a last memory of Alice Springs :)

We went for a 4WD to the river and found a nice big old white river gum.
(more to come soon)

Baby Brian Keogh

I had the opportunity and privileged to photograph little man Brian Keogh for the first time of his life.

Had been following Jess and Adrian’s pregnancy for 6 months.

Designing a website and the Territorian Dinner Poster

For people that don’t know, ID Photography stands for Illustrating, Design and Photography.
I studied Advertising and Multimedia incl. photography at uni in Holland :) love it.  Worked as a web designer in London for years and have done of advertising work too.
Love the variety of the two (photography and design) and yet are very closely related to one-another: Composition, layout, colour etc etc.

Not doing much designing work lately (besides restyling my whole website and BLOG) so I decided to design Kens’ “First Nations Political Party” website. http://www.firstnationspoliticalparty.org
He needs a website that has the same colours and colour scheme as the logo (that he designed).

Territorian poster is same as last years, using my photo of Old Undadoo station and my friend flying over

ROME here I come!

Just made a decision, when I am in Holland I will also go and visit Amsterdam and Rome
I must see Amsterdam for stock photography, must see family, must do 1 wedding (non relatives). Then Rome then “home”

I only have 3 weeks in Europe, Family is the main reason for my stay
    I will shoot so much……….

Can not wait to see the creation of Adam in the Sistine Chapel painted by Michael Angelo. For those who don’t know, I also studied European Art History for 4 years at the Uni for Advertising Design and Multimedia in Holland. I can not wait to see his art in real life!!!!
    More of my drawings:

Krysten and Damien at Ayers Rock 21 May 2010

I had not met Krysten and Damien before as they are traveling through Australia. They got married at Ayers Rock resort.

We went to the same red dune as this is a really nice spot for photographs. We were running out of light and only had 30 minutes to do the shoot. The clouds blocked the sun and any nice colours, then at the right moment we had a bit of sunlight popping through the clouds. Just enough to make that nice shot, a great contrast between the dark grey sky and the nice golden skin tones.

The night finished off for us – the couple and me and Emma (my new 2nd part time assistant) with sparkles and love…….

    Daniel and Sonya

A last minute call on Thursday  for a wedding on Saturday 15 May. For the beautiful Sonya and her handsome man Daniel.

Rita finally got her white dress wedding shoot she always wanted, her sweet husband Mark and I have been organising this shoot for the last 3 weeks over the phone between Hong Kong and Alice Springs. Thanks to Amanda Bartels who was so kind to loan the dress (because of a public holiday Bliss wedding dress shop was closed) for us this lady’s dream came true!

    Thanks Amanda!

Kings Canyon wedding, so much luck that we had with the rain

    What a wedding!

Amazing scenery here in the heart, the soul, the centre of Australia.
And the effort we had to go through to get there by car. Knee deep water over the roads and nearly got stuck. Pooring down with rain and heavy winds, dark dark skies. But when we finally got there after a 5 and a half hours drive (450 km only) the skies cleared up and the sun appeared, out of the blue. As if it had been waiting for us to have a fantastic setting for the wedding. We climbed to the top of Kings Canyon to have some great scenery shots. Luckily the bride and groom were ultra fit. Back within the hour and 15 minutes :) just in time for the ceremony.

At the end of the shoot / ceremony the wind almost blew the cake off the table. Me and my assistant Jenn had to protect our cameras from the dust storm and the wedding coordinator managed to save the cake. Walking back to the reception of the hotel it started raining so heavily that we had to do the last 200 m by car. How incredible that we had a clear and almost sunny sky throughout the whole ceremony and shoot!

The skies were so incredibly great, I couldn’t have hoped for more! Location, location, location!

Orange dress wedding and a rainbow!

    Wedding of Kelly and Darren
    3.45 pm
Up to another lovely wedding today at Trig Hill at the Telegraph Station.

This beautiful bride is getting married in an orange dress, nice and striking against all the green grass we have now after all the rain.

    7.30 pm
Back from the wedding. How amazing did this bride look! and there was a rainbow too! She was wearing real Singapore Orchids in her hair and in her bouquet.

Aren’t they just a gorgeous couple.

And then the Rainbow appeared, two of them !
This must mean something. (see what was left of it in the right top corner 2nd photo)

Wedding shoot at Ayers Rock resort 3 April 2010

The lovely couple Erica and Johnson from Hong Kong got married at Ayers Rock Voyages resort, 3 April 2010. The wedding was at sunrise (6.45 AM) It was very early morning for us all at 5.30 AM we started doing the getting ready shoot.

The bride looked great!, a nice ceremony with her father and a tea drink session. Great family and a stunning sunrise. What more can I say than that I loved this shoot!

Will it be a boy or a girl?

Water in the TODD River 10th time in 3 3/4 years, I have seen this YIPPEE

I am now a three times and a bit local of Alice, YIPPEE. I have seen this event 10 times now in the last 4 years.

Early this afternoon at about 2 pm, I checked out Wiggly’s Waterhole and met my friend Ref. John Boundy there.
Like me, a photography fanatic! Crazy enough to stand there in the soaking wet rain risking our cameras.
Though my 5D MKII and L lenses are all 1/2weather sealed thank god. Pooring down, seriously wet. Slippery rocks on my thongs.

    ((( Click to enlarge)))

He showed me how to 4WD through puddles. Lol.  Took this for stock photography
Now it was really really raining hard! I got soaked wet to my skin.
    Camera still ok.
