Well deserved holiday in SA and VIC
Hi guys
My sweet partner and I are now (until 1 March) on a well deserved (!!!!) holiday down south (first time since 3 years of working my bottom off to set up my business ID Photography).
Nice and cold weather 25 degrees here in Peterborough (at the in laws). Think I will go for a nice long bike ride.
We saw a nice rainbow at Lake Heart, driving past. Head out of the window with flappering cheeks whilst partner driving with 100k’s an hour. Had to take a photo of course. First time in my life I saw a rainbow complete from ground to ground!
This must be a sign……..at the start of our holiday!
SO EXCITED about seeing the ocean again that I can snorkel and of course scubadive. As a keen scubadiver in Holland I used to go diving once a week! Not much here in Alcie. I also bought us a cheap boogie board from the second hand shop. lol. Follow up coming, stay tuned

WEDDING OF THE MONTH – Rebecca and Ashley 9th January 2010
First published on 11 January 2010
We would have the wedding shoot of Rebecca and Ashley at the Telegraph Station, but due to heavy heavy rainfall the entrance road to this Telegraph Station was flooded and therefore the wedding spot was not accessible.
The couple quickly organised an alternative spot for the ceremony, which was the spot of their reception at the Alice Springs Resort.
Because the resort does not have that many great photo opportunities we decided to do a run around town to get a more URBAN style wedding shoot.
We went to North Side food land, where there is a great cartoon graffiti wall. Then to Anzac Hill, then The Cause way near Todd Tavern, then Schwarz Cresent bridge that shows the river well where we had a view of Heavitree gap.
Thank god it stayed dry. Thanks to the great couple Rebecca and Ash that did a fantastic job on posing in the sweaty hot humid weather.
The photos are looking great!

Water in the TODD River 10th time in 3 3/4 years, I have seen this YIPPEE
I am now a three times and a bit local of Alice, YIPPEE. I have seen this event 10 times now in the last 4 years.
Early this afternoon at about 2 pm, I checked out Wiggly’s Waterhole and met my friend Ref. John Boundy there.
Like me, a photography fanatic! Crazy enough to stand there in the soaking wet rain risking our cameras.
Though my 5D MKII and L lenses are all weather sealed thank god. Pooring down, seriously wet. Slippery rocks on my thongs.

He showed me how to 4WD through puddles. Lol. Took this for stock photography
Now it was really really raining hard! I got soaked wet to my skin.
Camera still ok.

Then at 5.45 pm the river finally came in

The wedding of the month is Warwick Thornton and Beck Cole 1 January 2010 / 01012010 (What a WICKED DATE!)
This couple got married at the Nature Theatre at the Alice Springs Desert Park.
The reception was at the Pioneer Park.
Thanks Warwick, Beck, kids, and their family, for the lovely wedding shoot you guys were great!
Warwick is the director of the movie Samson and Delilah that has won several awards at the Cannes (France) film festival and the Adelaide film festival.
I have seen the movie and was fairly touched by it I must say, definitely worth watching.

Official mention on Voyages Resort wedding website – Longitude 131
Having worked with Voyages Resorts Kings Canyon, Alice Springs, Longitude 131 and Ayers Rock, for about 2 years of my3.5 years photographic carreer here in Australia (note I have only lived in Australia for 3.5 years
:)
)
I am now finally mentioned on their website as one of the official wedding photographers for Longitude 131 resort weddings and Ayers Rock Voyages resort weddings.
The other mob is April of Moving Pictures. I have worked with April and can honestly say she is a very high competition for me.
I will also (eventually when I have some more time) provide images to them for website use on the Voyages web.
We are not allowed to use imagery that displays Uluru with weddings to sell a product as we all know Uluru is a sacret Aboriginal site.
The images on their website now are from a Japanese company that shot their images under the old regulations years and years ago. These images have been approved years ago.

Eriko and Kosuke
I regularly fly to Ayers Rock to shoot weddings. I must admit
photographing weddings for me is best kind of photography there is.
Especially if I get to fly to an unique and special spot like the very heart of Australia, Uluru Kata Tjuta National Park.
Staying in a 5 star resort hotel and shoot at the best spot in the world.
I DO SO LOVE MY JOB!
The rock keeps amazing me.
Have to start with this one:

Ashti and Damien 16 May 2009
Last Saturday I had a wedding shoot of the lovely couple Ashti and Damien.
I had not met Ashti in person before, so I was extra excited!
I was booked for one hour (but as always I arrived earlier and stay longer on my shout
to get some extra ones. (Can’t help myself can I? )
The wedding shoot (formals) were planned for 4.45 – 5.45pm. I arrived 4.30 and lucky me, I got to see The Kiss.
So romantic! I love my job so incredibly much!
I saw Ashti wearing a short chocolate coloured designer dress. A bit different looking to the traditional white dresses.
But when I saw Ashti I immediately thought: Yep that suits her, young and perky. Happy and light.
She was looking most gorgeous. Damien was wearing a similar coloured matching suit.
What a totally handsome and gorgeous looking couple this was.
A little girl (7 ish years old?) popped up in a red dress with a bright white parasol in her hands. How adorable! So cute, front teeth gone, so she must be about 7-8 I reckon.
And another one! about 3 years old. This must be their little girl.
Snap snap snap… whilst family was snapping away on them signing the register I took the two flower girls and took some photos of them.
A little 3 months old baby boy showed up, a little version of Damien! how cute. He was wearing a little suit and looked just like his dad but than in a smaller version.
Snap snap snap… Ofcourse. Babies are so cute.
Back to the table to get one or two register signing shots. (Ashti knew I would show up earlier
).
Their family and friends were dying to hugh them.
Family and friends are very important and they can’t wait to share a photograph with eachother. So we let them snap away for about 15 mins. And having drinks.
Now it was my turn. We spent about 60 minutes on a very successful photoshoot.
Grandma was there and I took this opportunity to take a 4 generations shot.
How incredibly gorgeous are these two looking. Young and at the beginning of their lives together with a lovely family already built up.
I can not wait until my photos are developed so I can show them off to them two. This process (along with my other photoshoots) will take approx one week, two weeks.
It’s a smallish – meduim sized shoot so I have planned in one week for it.
Keep you updated.
Love,
Joyce

He is so cute and adorable.
A little fontain over my camera during the shoot, (forgot! Indeed, boy babies……….. a well you get the idea
Grandma offered to wash the baby blanket, hahaha)
The results were definately worth it. (next time we’ll leave the nappy on mum and dad…. hi hi hi)
How much fun this was…. With thanks to the lovely parents, who let me take these photos.
I am pleased with the result, if I may say so.I had the mum over for aview and she loved it too. Very happy me.
I also designed them a nice card they are going to use for their friends.
My photo used in a Dutch videoclip
When I was in Holland for a family visit in 2007, I took some photos of this fabulous dutch singer Natasja Poels.
She emailed me this clip where she used my photo as landing page for her video clip.
I feel very pleased to be in a clip of a good friend.
Enjoy the song (she is GOOD)

New BLOG interface
Hi world,
I have designed my own BLOG interface instead of using pre designed ones.
This blog is made with Wordpress. I used Artisteer 2.3 for designing it. This is a cheap program that you can buy for US$49 (AUS $58) for the HOME edition and the full version US$ 129.
Now that I have this prog. I will design more theme templates for download.
Enjoy the new theme.

Outdoor portraits at the Claypans and Undoolya road look out in Alice Springs
One of the people that won the Joint Defence ball draw to win a free portrait shoot had booked her session.
Because she is from overseas (like me) she wanted to incorporate the typical Alice outback landscape scenery in her photos.
We decided to include the ranges and the Alice Claypans. I know this amazing tree
there that is also on my business card and with the right lighting techniques the tree really
comes to it’s element and looks like a tree you could find in a movie Lord of the Rings or something.
She also liked this tree. This is the result.

Audrey and Dennis – Golf Course Alice Springs 1 Nov ‘09
The lovely couple Dennis and Audrey got married today the 1st of November 09 at 10 am.
A select company of 6 people. Nice and intimit.
So hot it was (37 oC = 98.6 oF) , already at 10 am in the morning, but that could not ruin the atmosphere of love and happiness that was present in this house.
Audrey’s sister from the US followed the wedding on the webcam via wireless internet on their laptop. Viva la technology! Sister loved it! I took a photo of her.
I really enjoyed shooting this wedding. Thanks people for the great day!

Making Jess and Adrian’s book, almost done
Making Jess and Adrian’s book. Almost done, can’t wait to show the design to them.
I changed Book suppliers to. This new mob uses the finest Italian leather around. But still all Australian made and binded.
Italian leathers in Europe, are known as the best leathers available. My will price stays the same. So good for you couples.
Jess and Adrian – Alice Springs Desert Park. Finals
Jess and Adrian have viewed their photos yesterday (4 October 09). It was a great success, they were very very pleased with the results.
And so was I.
After selecting the best out all the images that I took for the 2 hours session I still had +/- 200 + left for them to choose from.
So hard as all images were so nice.
I just picked a random selection that I think represents the day as I saw it.
A free low res CD will be given to the couple as a gift. All images will be on there.
Just Ask Jess and Adrian for a free copy. They will have the right to do this.
Enjoy.
